About 40 minutes south of Albuquerque. The state has a surface water priority system. The growth of golf courses and housing development require the retirement of priority surface water. The City of ABQ, Intel. Centex are a few of the largest water buyers. The farmers are selling their water rights for cash and leasing water. This is a very shortsighted, Now the lesser is only offering water on a year to year basis. How do we keep farming? when the money just isn't available to the small farmer?&lt;/p&gt;
