Bedding Bug Infestations -Effective Management

You have identified bed bug indicators in your home and want to eradicate the infestation. Bed bugs are among the most challenging pests to get rid of, even for a Pest Control Company. They are strong, compact, and great hiders. Although store-bought remedies are available, they are, at best, useless against an infestation and, frequently, can drive bed bugs further into hiding, increasing the population of bed bugs. But there are several things you can do in and around your house to manage and avoid bed insect infestations:

  • Fill in cracks and openings in your house. Due to their small size and flat shape, bed bugs are able to squeeze through minor cracks in your walls. Thanks to caulk sealing, these can no longer be bed insect hiding areas.
  • Wash and dry all clothing and bedding near contaminated regions using the highest heat setting to eliminate any potential eggs or bed bugs hidden in the bedding. Move infected furniture only after heat treatment has been finished and it has been determined that no more bed bugs are present.
  • Purchase mattress and box spring coverings for protection. Bed bugs will be killed if their oxygen supply is cut off by mattress covers enclosing the bed. If the cover you purchase does not form that seal, it will not work.

After taking these measures, it is preferable to consult a specialist when treating infestations. Although you may have heard that kerosene, rubbing alcohol, and other things can be used to manage bed insect infestations, these methods are ineffective. And what is worse is that they might hurt your family badly and harm your house. Bed bug traps are available. However, they will not be sufficient to eradicate an infestation on their own.

Are Pesticides For Bed Bugs Safe To Use In My House?

As long as you follow the instructions, you can use EPA-approved pesticides for bed bugs inside your house without risk. Bed bugs are included on the labels of several insect bombs sold in stores, but homeowners should not use these because they need to be used with extreme caution. Bug bombs can endanger your health and start fires if misused. Additionally, they will not get into all of the cracks where bed bugs hide.

To several conventional pesticides, bed bugs have evolved a tolerance. This implies that the things you can use and locate might not work. Additionally, this implies that using insecticides regularly reduces their efficacy because any bugs that survive may develop resistance.
