Some fine print:
Who can be part of the 50,000 Green Homes Initiative? What stage must the project be in to participate?
Anyone can participate in the Live Green, Live SmartTM 50,000 Green Homes Initiative - homeowners, builders, developers, architects, and designers - people of all levels of experience and expertise, even novices. The shelter can be existing, in progress, or in the planning phase. The essential requirement is that the project's intended result must qualify as green.
If you post a shelter project that belongs to someone else, be sure to have their written permission before you put it on line - and be sure to note that this shelter belongs to a third party who has given consent.
What do participants in the 50,000 Green Homes Initiative get for their participation?
Your pilot project home will become an essential part of our online information resource. On the website - or via direct email, if you wish - you will have a connection with many other individuals who want to become green-er homeowners or builders. You will be allowed to post comments on and photos of your project on this website. You will be able to answer questions and help other participants with tips, comments, and issues that you encountered while doing your own green shelter project. While using the website, you will be asked to comply with the Terms of Use.
How much does this cost?
It is free to participate in the 50,000 Green Homes Initiative.
Is my project eligible for any funding or grants as a part of the 50,000 Green Homes Initiative?
Live Green, Live Smart is not able to provide monetary support to participants in the 50,000 Green Homes Initiative at this time. But the value of the information participants share with one another, and the contribution to a more eco-friendly society will be beyond calculation.
However, participants can and are encouraged to apply for a micro grant for this or any sustainability project.
I want to participate, but I don't want to be bothered by a lot of people when I post online.
LGLS doesn't want your privacy to be violated. When you participate on the website, you do not need to post an e-mail response address. Never give out your phone number or physical address. You can always go back and edit the information you have in your portfolio if you want more control over the information you provide. And LGLS has a policy against misuse of our online resources.
